Christopher Fiorini is in his 19th year of teaching, and is the head choir director for Bridgeland High School in Cy Fair ISD. Choirs at BHS consistently earn Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight-reading, students consistently are placed into TMEA All State Choirs and the program has seen steady growth since Mr. Fiorini's arrival. The BHS Chorale was a National Winner in the 2022 Mark of Excellence Award from the Foundation for Music Excellence. The BHS Chamber Choir also has consistently earned an Award of Distinction at the American Classics Madrigal Festival and was named 1st runner up in 2023 and the 2024 Honor Choir for this competition. Mr. Fiorini's choirs have also been named semi finalists for the American Prize and the BHS Chorale was named 1st Runner Up and 2024 Honor Choir for the Celebration of Excellence Festival in Houston. In 2023, Mr. Fiorini was award a state UIL Sponsor of Excellence Award. In 2024, the Bridgeland High School Varsity Tenor Bass Choir performed at the annual TMEA Convention as an Honor Choir. In the Fall of 2024, Mr. Fiorini was named Teacher of the Year for Bridgeland High School. In the summer of 2025, Mr. Fiorini was awarded the Choral Excellence Award from the Texas Choral Directors Association which is only awarded to a few directors annually. Before his appointment to Bridgeland, Mr. Fiorini spent 12 years at Langham Creek High School. While at Langham Creek, Mr. Fiorini brought the choirs to numerous Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest and has encouraged numerous students to pursue careers in music. Under the direction of Mr. Fiorini, the LCHS Chamber Singers have placed multiple times in the top 3 at the American Classics Madrigal Festival in San Antonio. In 2014, Mr. Fiorini was named as the Teacher of the Year for Langham Creek High School. Choirs under Mr. Fiorini’s direction have been asked to sing at invitational concerts at the University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, University of Texas Arlington, and Baylor University. In 2016 Mr. Fiorini’s A Cappella Choir sang as an invited choir at the TMEA annual convention and in the Fall of 2017 they were invited to sing with the Houston Symphony Orchestra.
Originally from the small town of Palacios, TX, Fiorini has been a lifelong choral musician. While in high school, Fiorini was a member of the Texas All-State Choir, as well as a member of the TMEA Honor Choir from Palacios under the direction of Michael Petrisky. He attended the University of Houston where he was a member of the Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Betsy Cook Weber. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2007. While at the University of Houston, Fiorini performed with the Concert Chorale twice at TMEA and at the national ACDA Convention in Miami in 2007. He was also an alumni choir that traveled to Wales to perform in the Choir of the World Competition in Llangollen at the prestigious Eisteddfod.
Mr. Fiorini remains active as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator across the state as well as nationally. He regularly judges contests and also gets invited to clinic choirs both at area schools and as a clinician for honor and festival choirs at the high school and middle school levels. In January of 2020, Mr. Fiorini got an opportunity to conduct an Honor Choir with the University of Minnesota Duluth. From 2016-2018, Mr. Fiorini served the state of Texas as a member of the UIL Sight-reading Committee. Fiorini is also quite active with TMEA, helping out wherever needed from working on the facilities team to being a tenor section leader for the 2010 All-State Men’s Choir and the 2012 All-State Mixed Choir. In 2020, he had the privilege of serving TMEA as the All State Tenor Bass Choir Coordinator. Mr. Fiorini has also served as the Region 27 Chair for the Vocal Division and is currently the TMEA Chair for Area F. Fiorini is married to the love of his life, Rachel, and they have a spunky 6 year old daughter named Bryce.
